Hello! Happy Monday! Today I wanted to share a lifestyle post. We’re starting a new chapter as a family, and our dynamic will be shifting a bit this week. As a new mom there are a few things I’ve wanted to do in terms of how I want to raise Alessandro. The first rule in our home is no technology/no screens. That means my husband and I are the sole entertainers in the house, and I have to constantly keep up with Alessandro. He is becoming more and more active each day. He isn’t entertained very easily, so I’m definitely on my toes every minute of the day. I’ve been lucky enough to work from home, so when my son takes his naps that’s when I get my work done.
Every week is a new start, it’s a new opportunity to go after your goals. Since becoming a mom my morning routine changed ALOT. My son is a bit lazy so he sometimes doesn’t wake up until 8:45 even 9:30am sometimes. I wake up earlier to get my emails out of the way before he wakes up. So answering emails before wake up time is #1.
#2 Breakfast
I never skip breakfast, and I don’t get started on it until Alessandro wakes up. He is starting to help me now too, and he loves it. We’ll make breakfast together, I’ll drink my coffee and we’ll just enjoy the moment. That’s definitely something I’ve learned to do since having him.
#3 Get My WorkOut In
It’s so difficult trying to get my workout in especially since I work in intervals throughout the day. I always have my fitbit on, so if I don’t get a change to work out I at least clock in 10,000 steps per day. I like working out with Alessandro, so I’ll take him on a hike in the mornings, when we have free time. I also do soul cycle 3x per week, I usually go Friday mornings or on the weekends.
#4 Planner Is Double Checked
Ok, so I am HUGE on writing things down on a planner. Nope, I don’t like Google Calendar or any tech-driven calendars. I’m so old-school with how I plan my week/month. Every time I have to add an event or task, I use my planner, and I carry it everywhere. I always make sure to check it every morning to see what’s ahead in my day since each day is different.
#5 Check Meal Preps
On Sundays, I do my grocery shopping and I clean my house. It just helps me start the week of right. I also love meal planning each day for my son, husband and I. Since we eat pretty healthy, and let’s be honest sometimes clean-eating can be a little boring, BUT it doesn’t have to be. I will research recipes and then write out what we will be having each day. It helps me be more efficient throughout the day, and since I do cook 2-3 times a day it makes it so much easier.
