Hello! Today we’re going to be talking about lashes. A couple months ago, I went in with Aubrey from Lashed San Jose to get a lash life and last week I went back for lash extensions. I received a bunch of questions regarding these two services. I wanted to explain what the difference is, and also explain each one, so that you can make the decision as to which service fits you best.
Lash Lift
Now, if you have naturally long lashes, but they might not curl as much as you’d like them to then this is for you!
What is a lash lift? A lash lift is a treatment applied to your natural lashes using a perming solution to uplift your lashes in order to make them appear longer and curlier. This process takes about an hour to do, and last for up to 10 weeks. You can still wear mascara, get them wet and apply falsies if you’d like. All you have to do is apply mascara, and you’re ready to go.
I loved the lash lift, but since my natural lashes aren’t that long I definitely prefer my lash extensions. I feel like this service is best for those women who are blessed with long lashes. This will only help make them look longer which is amazing, and they’re also very low maintenance.

Lash Extensions
What are lash extension? Well, they’re my favorite thing ever! This is such a great invention in my opinion. Lash extensions are single or multiple strands of synthetic or even possibly real hair lashes that are attached one-by-one to your natural lashes. The entire process can take up to two hours since they’re very careful about making sure they apply the lash extensions correctly. They last anywhere from 4-6 weeks, but they recommend you refill them every 2-3 weeks. I’ll be going in for my refill every 3 weeks.
What are the different sets? There are different types of sets depending on what look you’re trying to achieve. These specific sets are the LAVISH meaning they look like falsies. They’re more dramatic and full. They also have the LIGHT set which are much more natural. The LUSH set is a bit more full but not too over the top.
Will they ruin my natural lashes? This is a very popular questions with lash extensions and the answer is quite simple. If they’re placed correctly and taken care of correctly, they will not ruin your natural lashes.
Can you wear mascara? And can you get them wet? Lash extensions do require a little bit more work, but it’s not difficult. You can get them wet after 48 hours from the first application and mascara is not recommended since you’re trying to keep them as clean and away from oil as possible.
