Alessandro’s First Birthday

Alessandro’s First Birthday

Wow, I can’t believe my son is already 1! This year flew by and it has been such a roller coaster ride. I feel very blessed that I have a healthy baby boy, who is full of life! I’m super happy we had the opportunity to celebrate his birthday with a bang. I was definitely back and forwards about how big of a celebration I wanted to have for his birthday. At the beginning I didn’t want to do anything big because they’re most likely not going to remember it, but then again I thought why not? He’s our first son, he’s celebrating his first birthday, and I should celebrate too!

This time last year I was going through one of the hardest times in my life: LABOR. That in itself calls for a celebration. The more I started looking through Pinterest the more excited I became. After looking for themes, I decided on the movie UP. It’s a Disney/Pixar movie with such a special message. It’s about seeking adventure no matter how old you are. My Alessandro is such an explorer who loves to be out and about, and I thought this would be the perfect theme. I began to Pinterest different ideas, and bringing my vision to life. There was no party planner here, just my husband and I. I’ve never planned a party to this extent, so it was definitely overwhelming, but with the help of our families we were able to pull it off! It was such a special day with our closest family and friends. We are very blessed, and thankful to everyone who showed up to celebrate our son.

We decided to hire a catering service to make tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, aguas frescas and hot dogs for the party. The food came out so good, and the guys making the food were AMAZING! Our family friend Ida and her daughter Jocelyn made Alessandro’s cake. Not only was it so incredibly beautiful, but also tasted so good! For Alessandro, he had a custom organic vegan cake from Jaguar Baker. She’s a local baker from San Jose who specializes in vegan treats. I’m waiting to give Alessandro sugar, so I thought this cake would be perfect option. Let me tell you that he was LOVING it!

Overall we had such a fun time! The kids were swimming, or playing in the jumper. They definitely all had a blast! It was a day that we will always remember, and want to thank everyone for making it that much more special.
