Happy Tuesday! Today I wanted to talk about one important thing I’ve learned about becoming a mom. I’ll never forget the feeling I had when we came home from the hospital. Once the adrenaline was gone and all of a sudden reality hit me. I looked at my son and thought, “Wow I won’t ever be alone anymore, now I’m in charge of a whole little human forever.” It was a thought that gave me so much anxiety. I went 30 years only worrying about myself, my decisions, and what I wanted to do, but now all that was gone. Nobody really prepares you for postpartum, I feel like that’s one thing no one talked to me about. It’s more difficult than the pregnancy and birth itself because you are in this new role, with all these hormones floating around, a new body, new responsibilities its overwhelming for a first time mom.
Overtime the one thing I learned is make time for myself. Yes I’m a mom now, but I’m still Claudia. It can be so easy to let go of yourself especially with all the added responsibilities, but it’s important to never lose sight of who you are as a person. That point came when I decided to take charge of my physical appearance and lose the baby weight. I’ll be sharing how I started that journey with you soon. But for now just know that anything you want you can achieve whether it’s weightloss, career goals, relationship goals, you have the power to change any situation. Becoming a mother is one of the most selfless journeys you can embark on, and one that I will forever be grateful for.
