Hello! Today, I want to share with you some of the awesome work Huggies and the San Francisco 49ers are doing to help families who are struggling with diaper need.
Did you know that one in three families nationwide struggle with diaper need? This study was conducted by Huggies in 2010, that was further supported by the journal Pediatrics in 2013. For those of you that don’t know, diaper need is the inability to provide clean, dry diapers for baby. As a new mother, this reallyhit home for me. Our babies depend on us to give them the essentials and it can be frustrating when you’re unable to. This made me want to join the fight in ending diaper need once and for all.
This past weekend for the second year in a row, Huggies and the 49ers huddled up to host San Francisco’s Biggest Diaper Drive event during a 49ers Open Practice for training camp. Not only did 49ers fans support and donate diapers on-site, but Huggies also provided a lot of fun training camp activities for families to participate in.
Former 49ers Defensive End and Super Bowl Champion, Dennis Brown, even stopped by to hang out with fans, coaching them through the obstacle course and posing for photos with future fans. It was a great event to bring the community together for a noblet cause and all diapers donated went to the local Help A Mother Out Diaper Bank supporting California families in need.
If you weren’t able to attend this donation event, Huggies and the 49ers will team up again to host another diaper drive before the 49ers home game Sunday, December 17th. If you are planning to head to the game, make sure to pick up a pack of diapers to donate. I’ll make sure to remind you as the day gets closer.
If you’re not sure you’ll make it Levi’s® Stadium this year, you can still contribute to the local Help A Mother Out Diaper Bank through the Huggies No Baby Unhugged program by making an online diaper donation. This is a great and easy way to help if you don’t have time to attend the game or if you live in a different area.
Help a Mother Out Diaper bank is part of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN), a non-profit organization, founded in part by Huggies. Their mission is to drive awareness of diaper need in the U.S. and build up the capabilities of diaper banks across the country. This is an amazing resource for mothers who are in need and can’t afford diapers for their babies. Huggies, through their No Baby Unhugged program, has given more than 220 million “hugs” in the form of diapers and wipes over the past 6 years! You can help that number grow larger by getting involved today and spreading the word using #NoBabyUnhugged
