Magical Day in Ronda, Spain

Ronda, Spain is by far one of the cutest towns I’ve ever visited. With its white washed houses, bridges, ambience and views it’s worth visiting. With only a population of about 35,000 this town can be explored in a day. My husband and I arrived around noon to Hotel San Gabriel. Loved this hotel, they made us feel right at home with their warm welcome and great hospitality. It was also well located, and we were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. If you plan on visiting Ronda, I recommend it! It only has 22 rooms, so make sure you book in advance.
Next, we went sightseeing to the major attractions. First we walked based off a map that the hotel gave us. Every corner you turned was a picture opportunity. Ronda has the most amazing views and I just couldn’t help myself, and took hundreds of photos!
Our first stop:
1. Baños Arabes

2. Stroll Through The City

3. Tapas and Vino Tinto De Verano at Nueva 13
We stopped on Nueva street which was full of restaurants and bars. We chose Nueva 13 to have tapas and vino. The tapas were amazing, we especially loved the patatas bravas. They’re potatoes with a spicy sauce on top and an aioli sauce. We also ordered calamares and croquetas. I love spanish food, and croquetas are a must for me every time we eat tapas. You’ll probably be seeing them in all my food pictures. Another favorite dish is the tortilla de patatas. I’m Mexican, so in my head a tortilla is composed of either flour or corn. The tortillas in Spain are more like an omelette and this one is so simple containing just has olive oil and potatoes.
4. Plaza de Toros
This plaza is considered to be the largest, not in seating space, but in the diameter of the circle where the show happens. This bullring has been around since the 1700s!
5. El Tajo
Admiring the views and just soaking in the moment is what Ronda is all about! My husband and I went to different spots for pictures of the amazing bridges and rolling hills.
Finally we ended our day by grabbing an ice cream cone and watching the sunset.

I also wanted to share a little about my outfit. Ronda during the day is very warm, but at night it tends to cool down dramatically. I wanted to wear something that could be worn both day and night. I would take off this little cardigan when it got really hot. Also one important thing while traveling is the shoes. Being able to wear comfy shoes is a must. The boots I’m wearing are from NAOT Footwear called “LEVANTO.” They were life savers on this day because we hiked, and did a lot of walking and my feet were protected and comfy. We walked about 5 miles and my feet did not hurt. When traveling I suggest you invest in a good pair of boots especially for the autumn and winter.
