Hello! Today’s outfit post was inspired by USA Network’s new drama called Queen of the South. After watching the pilot I was inspired to create a look based around the main character, Teresa Mendoza played by the actress Veronica Falcón. Queen of the South tells the powerful story of Teresa Mendoza, a woman who is forced to run and seek refuge in America after her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico. In the process, she teams up with an unlikely figure from her past to bring down the leader of the very drug trafficking ring that has her on the run.
After watching the pilot episode, I can’t wait to see how her story ends! It’s definitely a show I’ll be watching this summer. It’s not your typical narco-series, this drama embodies the strength of Teresa Mendoza, and depicts the strength that we as women have. We face challenges head on, and this character shows us how she conquers her fears and ends up at the top!
The original drama series is based on the global best-selling novel “La Reina Del Sur,” by internationally-acclaimed author Arturo Pérez-Reverte. I actually read the book, and that’s why I am more excited to see it come to life in a drama!
