Hello my lovelies! Well the weekend is around the corner, and I wanted to share with you some date night ideas. My husband and I love going on dates and every Friday we make it a point to go out and enjoy a nice meal together…with NO phones. Now, for those of you who don’t know my husband and I also work together. I help him with the marketing/digital aspect of his band. It gets a little hectic sometimes because we are constantly talking about work, so when we go out on dates we make sure to leave our phones at home. He also travels a lot on the weekends because he’s on tour Thursday through Monday. Sometimes, he is gone longer, but we make the best out of the time we have together.
Now let me share with you some of the things we love to do!
Date Night Ideas
1. Picnic + Park
I love the outdoors, but my husband not so much. Picnics are one of the things I love to do because growing up my mom would take us all the time. The first time I took my husband he was not a happy camper, but fast-forward 10 years later, he now enjoys them! We love to go to whole foods pick out some lunch, set up camp at a park and just eat and talk. Of course, a bottle of wine is a must π

2. Comedy Show
This is another thing we love to do! Especially since we have the historical “Improv Comedy Club” here in San Jose! We’ve seen some of our favorite comedians here including JoKoy, Fluffy, & Chingo Bling. Before heading to the show we grab dinner and if the show is early we try and make it to happy hour. If you’re in San Jose, we love the happy hour at Blush and any other place in San Pedro Square.
3. Day Trips
So if you have more time, I definitely recommend a day trip! We are so blessed to live in the Bay Area, we can go to wine country or the beach, and they’re only about an hour away! My husband and I enjoy Napa, Monterey Bay, Half Moon Bay, or San Francisco. Of course exploring and eating are on the top of our list, but mostly eating.
4. Sporting Event
We love sports! Any chance we get, we’re either at a baseball or soccer game! We don’t agree on the same football team, so we just avoid them in general. My all-time favorite sporting event was seeing FC Barcelona in San Francisco. That was such an unforgettable night, and one I’ll remember forever! If you have a chance to attend a game, I say go for it!
5. Hiking
This is another thing you can do that gets you moving and it’s so much fun to do as a couple! When we get overwhelmed with work and need some fresh air we visit Montgomery Hill which is 2 minutes from our house. We take a long walk and just talk, we can spend 2 hours there! It’s fun to just get outdoors and enjoy each others company.
6. Movies or Movie Marathon at Home
I am movie deprived, up until 2007 movies were just not my thing. On the other hand my husband grew up visiting the movie theaters every week. Now I love movies, and if there are no good movies out then we watch some at home. We wanted to do a movie marathon watching all the Star Wars movies, a couple weeks ago, but we haven’t had the time yet. We also go through phases, the other week we watched like 5 Tom Hanks movies! He’s one of our favorite actors. Please leave me a comment of your favorite movie so I can add it to my watch list! π
7. Festivals + Taco Trucks
Summer is around the corner which means festival season! This is so much fun to do on the weekends. Some of the festivals I love are the taco truck festivals or wine strolls. If you’re in the Bay Area here is a list of some great festivals: https://www.everfest.com/california/san-jose-festivals
