Cinque Terre

Wow, what can I say about this enchanting place. I am now completely head over heels in love with Italy.
Vernazza is the town we decided to stay at and I couldn’t be happier with this choice. After seeing the other 4 towns, Vernazza is by far my favorite. All of the 5 towns were different each with their own charm.
Vernazza just stole my heart. Our apartment was near the water and you can hear the waves as you were falling asleep. We were lucky to stay here 4 nights, half of them were spent on the beach soaking in the sun and enjoying the clear waters.
The first full day that we were in Cinque Terre we hiked from Vernazza to Monterroso (the next town) which took us about an hour a half.

For not working out in almost

6 weeks I was not as bad as I thought i would be. I thought I would be near dying from this hike, but the fresh air and views kept me going strong.

When we arrived to Monterroso we were greeted with a beach that had that Italian flare. We hoped on our sun beds and relaxed for about 7 hours! Yes, we were on the beach for almost a full day, only taking breaks to eat. This is life, complete bliss. Leaving the stress of everyday life behind and simply enjoying life. Enjoying the sun, hearing the sound of the waves,

feeling the fresh breeze and drinking yummy piña coladas.

Cinque = 5 for the number of towns

1. Riomaggorie (we had seafood cone with fried calamari, anchovies, shrimp and fries it was fresh seafood and only cost 5 euros!)

2. Corngelia (walked up about 380 steps to get to this town! The first thing we did was grab gelato to cool down. We walked around and admired this cute town.)

3. Manarola (The marina has these huge rocks where locals and tourists jump off from! I thought it was the coolest thing ever, no I didn’t jump but it looked tempting.)

 sunsets
4. Vernazza (Our town!)

Lunch Box: this little place makes the best juice and snacks in town! The older woman who works here is adorable. I came in one morning to get my Zumo de Naranja (Oj) and an apricot muffin, I sat outside to eat and she came out a few minutes later and asked how it was. I said “Grazie! (thank you) it was delicious!” And she gave me a kiss on the cheek and said “ah Prego! (You’re welcome)”  it totally reminded me of my grandma I probably looked like I needed some family love lol being away from home for so long now I guess it’s starting to show ?
Storie in Italy: purchased a stunning vintage necklace from this store. The owner is a painter (who also sells his paintings here) and his wife is the one who designs and makes the jewelry. Each piece is different and I wanted something special to remind me of

Vernazza.

5. Monterroso (Beaches everywhere, shopping was amazing I purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks here oh and had the best pizza!)
In Cinque Terre it’s all about La Dolce Vita, the sweet life.
