Week 2- Paris, France

Rue Cremieux
Today I wanted to relax and explore the city a bit more. We started off by visiting this neighborhood with one of the prettiest street that I’ve seen thus far! As we started to walk and turned the corner we saw a street filled with colorful houses and people painting, having brunch and just enjoying their Sunday afternoon.

My iPhone took some pretty nice pictures 🙂
Sunday, I also had a chance to visit a family friend who is a Mexican painter living in Paris. She is such an amazing and interesting person !

Los Tigres Del Norte! She had this fabulous and artsy display right as you entered her home. !!
Christina recommended this place for dinner and I just have to share with you the pictures of the food. It was one of the top 3 meals I’ve had in Paris so far.
PIZZA

 Ravioli

SUPER STRONG ITALIAN COFFEE

Brussels
Thanks G for the picture 🙂
Our class had a chance to visit Brussels, Belgium today. We woke up early and met at the train station at 7am and took an hour and a half train ride to this beautiful city. Upon arriving we had a meeting with Visit Brussels who gave us an overview of the city, what to do, and what Brussels offers! Afterwards we had some free time to eat some of their famous waffles and of course chocolate!

This little “Pee Man Statue” was all over the city.
After our lunch break we headed over to the European Commission and they explained how they functioned and it was also interesting to learn about their government system.

Moulin Rouge!
WOW! Moulin Rouge was just such an unforgettable experience. Some of my classmates and I went out to dinner in Montmartre (which is my favorite area in Paris) and then enjoyed the Moulin Rouge show.

Beekeeping and cheese tasting.
I was totally rocking this beekeeping suit 🙂
We had a corporate visit today at Cisco and had a chance to learn about their beekeeping initiative. They are a high tech company who have this project in place to demonstrate their social responsibility.
“The European beekeeping project illustrates how people can use human and technology networks to multiply the positive impact of something they are passionate about.”

It was so cool learning about bees and how much they make an impact on our environment and how much passion these Cisco employees have with the project.
After learning about bees we headed over for some cheese tasting!

My appreciation for cheese increased so much after this tasting. I’ve always loved cheese but being able to taste and learn about different kinds besides brie was awesome. 🙂 New favorite: Comte cheese. If you haven’t tried it…I highly recommend it! Even if you’re not a big cheese-eater this one will convert your taste buds.
For dinner we visited Cantine California (one of my favorite restaurants) to eat tacos and have some margaritas!

Carrot Cake was on point!

Visited Sainte-Chapelle one of the most beautiful churches with stunning stained glass.

Catacombs & Angelina Cafe

After standing in line for almost 2 hours we still had a great sense of humor.

These were our best friends in Paris, we seriously walked over 4 miles everyday.

Being in the catacombs was so creepy and eery! These tunnels were built years ago and house the remains of over 6 million people.

And after this we went to the world famous Angelina Cafe.

This hot chocolate was out of this world. I’m not the biggest fan but this was just indescribable.
