There will be raffles, fashion advice from Ariana Cabral along with other fun surprises! The mission is to collect the most needed items for the young women living in orphanages in Baja Mexico. Many of the items are indispensible for these young ladies and taken for granted.
Needed item include:
– Tooth Paste, Shampoo, Soap
– Femenine Products
– Undergarments
– School Supplies
– Musical Items or Art Supplies
– Clothing, Makeup etc.
Many of these items we honestly do not appreciate, and to have the opportunity to donate and give back is an amazing feeling!
My Background:
For those who do not know or may be wondering my background, I’m Mexican and first-generation here in the United States. I grew up in a humble home where I was always taught to work hard while being an independent and educated Latina. Being proud of where I came from and embracing it was so important!
Being able to help the communty is something that I am very passionate about. I started being involved with my community at the age of 15. I started off volnteering at a local church , and did that for 6 years. While in high school I also founded the Latino Student Union at Evergreen Valley High School. I am happy to say that it’s still going strong and continuing the traditions that I began. While in college my passion for our roots continued and were demonstrated through my involvement in SJSU’s Chicano Commencement. I was on the board for this organization and we dedicated ourselves in creating a graduation based on our values and culture.
Currently I am a mentor at West Valley College for first-generation students that are paving their way into a better future. End of story is anything we can do to help our community and our people I am there without hesitation. If you are in LA, please stop by and say hello 🙂
