Naples, Italy

For the next part of our honeymoon we embarked on a cruise that would take us through Italy and France. A cruise is so much  different than just going through Europe exploring. This was my first one and had no idea what to expect. For the first day on the cruise we were at sea and just went to a beautiful dinner and enjoyed a night out on the boat. They had so many things to do it was surreal. They had a casino, restaurants, bars, clubs, shows and even an ice bar! It was like being in Las Vegas but on a boat 😉

You choose beforehand if you want to take a tour of the city or if you want to roam around on your own, but you have to be back on the ship by a certain time. You only get one day in whichever city you visit, so you have to take advantage of every minute you get.  This made our honeymoon very exhausting, but at the same time we got to see many different cities in a short amount of time. I didn’t mind at all waking up at 6am every morning, mostly because I enjoyed watching the sunrises in every city we visited.

The first stop we made was in Naples, Italy. We decided to take the tour of Pompeii and Sorrento.

Pompeii is a Roman city near Naples that was buried with ash by the explosion of  Mt. Vesuvius, and dust poured over the entire city killing over 15,000 people. The city was left abandoned for many years. It was later discovered in the 1700’s and underneath all the dust they found most of the city intact! They found skeletons, buildings, structures and artifacts that demonstrated their way of life and showed us how advanced their city was. When we visited Pompeii, and it was amazing to see how theses structures can still be standing after so many years!

Sorrento is another city near Naples, that has gorgeous views and the most clear waters you can imagine. We visited Sorrento after Pompeii and just walked around the town. When we visited Naples, it was one of their hottest days of the year. We were out on tours all day in 110 degree weather. We were burning up the whole day, but I still had so much fun!

Enjoy my pictures! xOxO …Rome and Vatican city coming soon
